We are pleased to announce that we will be hosting a visit from Junichi Tashiro sensei (Kendo 8th Dan Kyoshi) on on the following dates:

Thursday 16th February 20:00 - 21:30. Price £5
Saturday 18th February 10:00 - 16:00. Price £20
Sunday 19th February 10:00 - 13:00. Price £7

There are a limited number of places on the Saturday due to the limited size of the venue so please contact Phil Whitfield (whitfieldpa@yahoo.co.uk) if you wish to attend. The closing date for applications 9th February 2012.

Hiroshi Ozawa Kendo Seminar 2012

Kashi No Ki Kenyu Kai are very honoured to be hosting the 7th Hiroshi Ozawa Kendo seminar over the weekend of the 23-25 March 2012. This seminar will be led by Hiroshi Ozawa, who became Kendo 8th Dan Kyoshi in 2010 after successfully passing his grading.

Many of you will know and have practiced Kendo with Ozawa sensei from his past visits to the UK, or know of him as the author of the book ‘Kendo: the Definitive Guide’. Ozawa sensei is part of a highly respected Kendo family in Japan, who were instrumental in incorporating Kendo into the Physical Education curriculum as a core subject in Japanese schools. Ozawa sensei has also made many trips to different countries across the world to demonstrate and teach Kendo.

The following sensei will be attending this years seminar: Hiroshi Ozawa (Kyoshi 8-dan), Shoji Ishii (Kyoshi 7-dan), Kunio Takeyama (Kyoshi 7-dan), Hachiro Kondo (Kyoshi 7-dan), Paul Budden (Kyoshi 7-dan), Yasuo Nagahara (Renshi 6-dan), Gary O' Donnell (Renshi 6-dan), Kazuyo Matsuda (Renshi 6-dan), Yoshitaka Konno (5-dan), and Taichi Sakamoto (4-dan).

Those of you who are interested in coming to the seminar will be required to attend both days to experience the maximum benefit from the seminar content and Ozawa sensei’s teaching. The seminar will start promptly on Saturday at 10.00am until 16.00pm and again on Sunday from 10.00am until 16.00pm.

This year we will be holding a Kata Taikai over the weekend of the seminar, which will consist of the following categories:

No applications will be accepted after 5th March 2012, and all monies must also be paid by this date.

Venue restrictions prevent any applications after the closing date or when all places have been filled. Please be aware that places cannot be transferred to another individual after booking because of Health and Safety considerations.

Seminar schedule:

Friday 23 March:7.30pm to 9.30pm, £10 ( limited number of places).
Saturday 24th March & Sunday 25 March: 10am- 4.30pm both days, £55.
The total cost for attending all 3 days of the seminar is £65.
