Kendo in the East Midlands

Kashi No Ki Kenyu Kai dojo - established 1987

Current practice details 

Sunday: 10.30am-12 noon (Oak Tree Leisure Centre, (NG18 3RT)

Thursday: 7.30pm-9pm (Dukeries Leisure Centre, NG22 9JJ)

Kashi No Ki Kenyu Kai is a long-established and highly regarded dojo based in Nottinghamshire, dedicated to the development and promotion of kendo. We constantly strive to improve our skills and knowledge by encouraging and promoting international relations and studying the original culture and core values at the heart of kendo.

Beginners welcome

We welcome beginners at Kashi No Ki Kenyu Kai, aged 12 upwards. Contact us to arrange a visit to watch a practice, meet the club members and find out whether kendo is right for you.

Mind

Kendo develops the mind through training and discipline. You will learn breathing techniques to calm the mind while undertaking rigorous activity. 

Body

Kendo will help you develop flexibility and cardio fitness appropriate to your level and age. You can adapt your practice to suit your ability.

Spirit

Kendo focuses on the development of 'spirit', which can be applied to challenges and situations in life outside of the dojo.

Friendship

The kendo community in the UK is small and friendly. You will be welcomed into our dojo and other dojos across the country.
